DJ QUIK x NIKE COMMERCIAL.

These are the first pics from a new Nike ad campaign called "Hyperize" that features the legendary DJ Quik and a handful of NBA ballers decked out in old school attire. Something tells me this is going to be good.

Check the photos, and stayed tuned for the commercial when it drops.

WESTCOAST WEDNESDAY.

They wanna be like Compton.

Quik is a musical genius. If you didn't know, you better ask somebody. Respect game.

DJ Quik x Kurupt: The Outtakes.

This is the stuff we couldn't show you the first time around. Straight comedy here. It's Quik and Kurupt basically just chopping it up, talking about anything and everything from Back To The Future, The Watchmen, sneakers, and of course, The Lock Ness Monster.

Don't forget to go cop Quik and Kurupt's album, Blaqkout, which is in stores now!

The Best of DJ Quik.

Well, look what we have here? A collection of 39 tracks from one of the most underrated and unheralded hip hop artists of all time, the west coast icon, DJ Quik. It was mixed by Matthew Africa, and I'll let him tell you why:

I made this mix because people sleep on DJ Quik. Maybe they've forgotten or maybe they never understood, but people don't get the breadth or depth of his talent.

I feel you, dog. Too many people sleep on Quik, but not us here at Hip Hop Official. In fact, I've already listened to this 3 times today.

And if you missed it, DJ Quik let us into his secret studio and showed off some of his toys. It's must see internet TV.

"I never do this for camera...you are luuuuucky.

In this brand new segment, you get to step into the studio with iconic producer and westcoast legend, DJ Quik, as he shows off some of his favorite studio toys and drops some production insight on the people. Any production junkie or true hiphop fan will love this one of a kind segment. This is some one of kind access right here, courtesy of Hip Hop Official.

DJ Quik x Kurupt.

Two westcoast legends teaming up on one album? This sounded too good to be true. So we had to the get to the bottom of this. Fortunately, I had a chance to sit down with the O.G.s, DJ Quik and Kurupt, to talk about their upoming collab album called Blaqkout (no Meth and Red). Lucky of us, the rumors are true. Quik is producing, Kurupt is spitting, and tons of other dope artist are contributing. Check the interview where they talk about how they recorded the album and motivated each other. And make sure you stay tuned for the out takes from this interview. Classic hilarity guaranteed.

Quik Is The Name.

Hip Hop Official and Guerilla Union presents an interview with DJ Quik. He talks about working with Murs and the art of mixing. This dude has his finger prints on so much good music, you can't front on his legacy. Quik stays underrated. Not anymore.

Westcoast Wednesday.

DJ Quik - "Tonite"

Classic Los Angeles music, and it still sounds as good today as it did in 1991. This song makes me want to drink a 40 oz. right now for breakfast.

"Just a day in the life of a player named Quik."

Hip Hop Rocks the Vote - Part 1

Hip Hop Official teams up with Rock The Vote to talk to you favorite rap artists in the game about the impact of the upcoming election and the importance of voting. Remember to get off your ass on November 4th and get your voice heard.

VOTE
OR
DIE.

Murs For President.

I sat down with Murs to talk about his new album, Murs For President, working with beatsmith 9th Wonder, and the lack of quality hip-hop today. He says he plans on changing the landscape of music. He also has the craziest hair I've ever seen. A vote for Murs is a vote for change.

Murs & DJ Quik Freestyle.

At Amoeba Records in Hollywood for his album release shindig.

Snoop Is All About The Cash.

Snoop Dogg is out for the cash...Johnny Cash, that is. Off the strength of his country music inspired song “My Medicine” with Willie Nelson, the Doggfather is set to appear on a Johnny Cash remix album due out in October. Snoop will remake the Man In Black's classic song “I Walk The Line” which will be co-produced by Teddy Riley and DJ Quik. Snoop said that if you take the time to listen, country music is very similar to rap. Well yeah, with the exception of the fascination with material wealth, strippers, bottles of Chrys, gun clapping, and drug trafficking, they're exactly the same, Snoop.

Legendary producer Pete Rock will also remix Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" for the upcoming remix album. It'll be interesting to see how he pulls that one off.

[INTERVIEW] Problem

We gotta Problem here!

Hip Hop Official sits down with the man behind the banging single, "I'm Toe Up." Straight Outta Compton, Problem, is here to let you know he's more than just a one hit wonder and not a typical Westcoast rapper. Dude has got lyrics to go. He's worked with cats like Snoop, Warren G, Kurupt, DJ Quik, and Terrace Martin. Keep your ears open.
