T.I. Goes to Prison.

Today T.I. is official behind bars. The Rapper, Clifford Harris, checked himself into the (minimum security) federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas, according to one of his attorneys. The 28-year-old rapper was sentenced to 366 days in Club Fed after he was busted trying to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers from undercover federal agents back in 2007.

The Urban Daily has also reported that T.I. and his girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle finally got married before TIP entered prison:

“Its been a crazy situation around here with all that has been taking place. In regards to Tiny and T.I., yes they are officially husband and wife,” said the source who wished to remain anonymous because they were not at liberty to officially discuss the issue. “It recently took place in a very private ceremony with only members of the immediate family and certain members of the Grand Hustle family.”

Good for him. Now he has those conjugal visits to look forward to. But if I were a betting man, I'd put money down that we see T.I. in the streets before his 1 year and 1 day prison sentence is up...

[NEW] T.I. (ft. Mary J. Blige) - "Don’t Forget"

This sounds like a song from a guy who's headed to prison. Seriously. It's not like this is going to be his last song ever. But it almost comes off that way. I mean, the hook is pretty blatant:

"Don't forget.....
To remember me"

First of all, that doesn't really make sense. "Not forgetting" and "remembering" are the same exact thing. It's like a double negative or something. But not. Maybe it's a double positive. Regardless, it's redundant. But don't worry T.I., you're only going to prison for a year and a day. Rappers disappear for much longer than that and stay relevant. (Eminem). And besides, you can start blogging from your cell in ALL CAPS and come up with crazy wild-out conspiracy theories. It worked for Prodigy.

[NEW] T.I. - "Get That Money"

32 days and counting...

T.I. is putting out that free music while he's still a free man. Here's a new T.I.P. joint from Trap-A-Holic’s Gone Til’ November mixtape. For some reason this is called "Do It To It" on the mixtape. I know, don't ask.

T.I. on Chelsea Lately

More proof that rappers love white women...and white women love rappers. This is actually a pretty funny interview.

T.I. (feat. Rihanna) - "Live Your Life"

Here's the new song from T.I. featuring Rihanna, aka that song they performed together at the 2008 MTV VMAs. You know, the song where Rihanna was wearing that leather vest with no shirt on underneath. Oh yeah, that one.

It's produced by Just Blaze and appears on T.I.'s upcoming album, Paper Trail, which drops Sept 30th. I think it's dedicated to the haters.

[NEW] T.I. (feat. Kanye, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne) - "Swagger Like Us"

The internets have been buzzing about this song all weekend. Four of the heaviest hitters in the game on one track, talking about how dope they are, complete with a heavy synth Southern beat and a hook featuring an M.I.A sample from her track, "Paper Planes".

Who wouldn't be happy about this song?

Well, T.I., that's who. The song is featured on his upcoming album, Paper Trail, which drops on Sept 30th. It was one of the premier records on his album, and Tip wants to know how the hell it got to the internet.

"That's some bullsh--," a disappointed Tip told MTV News. "I'm beating down the Internet as we speak. Don't ruin the event. Wait till the cake comes out the kitchen before you eat it. That's like a kid who sees his toys before Christmas; it takes away from me and I think it takes away from the fans as well. When it's time, I'mma give it to you. They leaked my record with me and The-Dream ["Like I Do"] too. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I'm not used to it."

Well, Clifford, you better get used to it real quick. It's not going to change anytime soon. In fact, music will be free before we know it, so you might as well adapt and embrace the situation. Sometimes a leak like this can actually HELP your record sales. (Right, Weezy?)

In an unrelated note, can we please stop using the word "Swag" to define someone's credibility like it holds weight in their emcee abillity. That shit is down right ridiculous. Thank you. [/soap box]

[NEW] T.I. - "Whatever You Like"

This is the new single off his upcoming album, Paper Trail, which drops Sept 2nd. Above is the abstract cover art for aforementioned album. It features a conceptual drawing of the potent MC made of scraps of paper. Get it? Paper Trail, scraps of paper!?! Brilliant.

"We didn't want to just do a typical cover, especially for my sixth album," T.I. told us via e-mail. "I wanted to try something a little more different. The illustration for Paper Trail pays an obvious homage to my rekindled affinity for writing my lyrics down as well as displays my commitment to keep my art slanted towards the abstract."

What he said. But I actually like it. It's different. I mean, he could have half-assed it and put himself in a Bentley or in front of a table full of assault rifles, or something.

As far as the song, it's pretty alright. I'm not the biggest Tip fan, and when the song starts its kinda sounds like "What You Know" but it actually grew on me as the song went on. I mean, it's not going to make my iTunes Essential playlist or anything, but it's got potential.

50 Cent Takes Aim at T.I.

I swear, this dude is either must be the most bored cat in Hip Hop, or the most genius. He's constantly taking shots at people, stirring up that beef, and getting people to talk about 50 Cent. He's a marketing genius. I can't front on that.

This time, 50 points the heavy artillery at T.I. by questioning his non-snitching ability regarding his latest legal trouble. On the song "You So Tough" of the upcoming Terminate On Sight album, Curtis spits:

“Nowaways this rap shit aint adding up. How n—-s get caught with 10 machine guns, only get 12 months?

Oo-weee, don’t talk to me. If you talking to him, you talking to them…

I got the best lawyers that money can buy….they say at best they woulda got me 10 or maybe 9.

I said, how do you explain how the homie breezed? They said, you keep your mouth shut or you eat the cheese.”

Stay tuned...I'm sure this isn't finished.

T.I. Brings Reality Show to MTV

So MTV is going to follow Tip around has he completes his required community service, tries not to get arrested again, and prepares for his one-year prison sentence next spring. The network plans to air the show some time soon after T.I. goes to jail in early 2009.

Talk about flipping a bad situation into a money making scheme. As long as it's not an hour or T.I. claiming that he's turned his life around, and that he's doing this for the betterment of the community then it might be watchable. I hate when people use the media to make themselves look good by doing by hyping up the fact that they are doing shit that they are required by federal law to do.

"Motherf*ckers always want some credit for some shit they supposed to do." (c) Chris Rock.

[NEW] T.I. - "No Matter What"

First single of of Tip Harris' new album, Paper Trail.

Dude's flow seems slower than usual. Maybe he's tired from all the mandated community service.

Enjoy.
