I love the Foreign Exchange. Their 2 albums are off the richter scale and if they're not in your collection, you're losing. Real music. Life music. If you don't know, now you know. Foreign Exchange = Phonte (vocals) + Nicolay (beats).

Drake (ft. Phonte & Elzhi) - "Think Good Thoughts" (prod. by 9th Wonder)
This guy loves making songs about women. And I'm pretty sure they love listening to them. This one is an older song of his mixtape "Comeback Season" that dropped in 2007, but due to legal issues (i.e. he hadn't paid for the beat yet) it couldn't release the full song - including Elzhi's verse.

[NEW] L.E.G.A.C.Y. - "TKO" (ft. Phonte, Chaundon, Sean P)
New music from the Justus League (not to be confused with these guys). This joint is from L.E.G.A.C.Y.'s upcoming album, Suicide Music, which drops June 16th. There are some dope emcees and even doper lyrics on this joint. Oh yeah, and it's produced by the board smasher Khrysis. Hotdamn, the Hall of Justus stays putting out good music.

[VIDEO] Keelay & Zaire - "Alright With Me" (ft. D-Minor & Phonte)
Keelay and Zaire are dope on the beats. Phonte is dope on the rhymes. D-Minor is dope on the vocals. Dope + Dope + Dope = Overdose. That much dope would impress Pablo Escobar. This one pretty much seems like a no brainer.

Evidence - "For Whom The Bell Tolls" Behind the Scenes [Part 1]
Hip Hop Official was on the set of Evidence's latest video shoot for his song "For Whom The Bell Tolls" off the Layover EP. The song features Will.I.Am, Blu, and Phonte from Little Brother. The entire video was shot at a crazy dope graveyard and mausolem in Altadena, CA and provides the perfect backdrop for the vibe of this video. I'm telling you, this place was mad spooky. I swear dead people were climbing out of the walls. I was packing garlic cloves and a wooden spike just in case something popped off. The official video is going to look amazing, but you can get a sneak peak right here.
Check for Part 2 tomorrow...

[NEW] Evidence (Ft. Phonte, Blu, & will.i.am) - "For Whom The Bell Tolls"
Now this is a collection of artists right here. Different styles, different flows, one mission. And I don't even mind will.i.am on this one, as he sticks strictly to hook duties. Well played, Ev.
Side note: Blu is making a strong case for Rookie of the Year. This dude's skill is top notch, and he comes with a very effortless multi-syllable flow. I've heard him rhyme slow, I've heard him rhyme quick. I've never heard him come weak.

[NEW] The Foreign Exchange - "Daykeeper" (feat. Muhsinah)
The Foreign Exchange return to drop their new single, available for FREE download from their newly launched website. The Foreign Exchange is Phonte from Little Brother and producer Nicolay from the Netherlands. They met on the message boards at okayplayer.com, and started exchanging beats and verse over Instant Messenger. Their whole first album was conceived across the Atlantic ocean via AIM before they ever met in person. And it was amazing. Their first album Connected is one of my fav joints from the past few years. Nicolay provides a beautiful soundscape of music and Phonte delves more into his introspective, grown-man side. Definite feel good, cool vibe shit for your ears. And their new album, Leave It All Behind, is sure to keep that winning formula intact. You can't front on good music.

Phonte Loves the 80's.
Phonte of Little Brother is teaming up with producer Zo! to release an album of slammin 80's covers titled, Zo! and Tigallo Love the 80's. And really, who doesn't?
"It just started with me and Zo doing covers for fun, but then we kept recording and decided to release it," Phonte says. "It's our way of paying homage to the stuff we grew up listening to."
Many LB fans are familiar with Phonte's singing capabilities through his hilarious comedic alter-ego Percy Miracles, don't expect to get many laughs from this upcoming project:
"We had fun recording the record, but its not a 'joke' album at all," says Phonte. "We were very serious with everything, from the vocal side, to the production side, to the final mixing and mastering...it was a real painstaking process to recreate it all.
The Zo! and Tigallo Love the 80's EP will be available in early July as a limited edition CD. Only 2,500 copies will be pressed, all individually numbered. "No iTunes, Amazon, or other any digital spots will have it; once we sell out, its gone forever," Phonte warns.
I heard the first one they did a whiiiiiile back on Little Brother's MySpace, it was a cover of "Africa" by Toto. And they recently covered "Take on Me" by AHA.
UPDATE: I the got downloadable audio, courtesy of Shake at 2dopeboyz.com:
