Q-Tip Release Party @ Fat Beats

Q-Tip released his solo album, The Renaissance, yesterday. He threw a party for it. Like to see it? Here it goes...

Daily Dopeness: The World Is Yours.

"I'm out for Presidents to represent me..."

I couldn't think of a more appropriate song for today. I'm still high from yesterday. Obama truly makes me feel like anything is possible, like I can do anything. The world is in the palm of my hand. He overcame magnificent odds to make history and climb to the highest position in the country. And he did it will our help. The World is truly Ours...

Until tomorrow...

Historic.

Yes We Can? Yes We Did. Congratulations to Barack Obama and his family. We witnessed history last night. I can't explain in words how important yesterday was. Barack Obama is the president of the people. It is time for change.

Paint the White House Black...

MC Breed - "Ain't No Future In Your Frontin"

This won goes out to the 44th President of the United States.

Q-Tip For President.

Q-Tip and J. Period revisit the classic from song from Eric B. & Rakim that I posted earlier today. This is fresh. Q-Tip's new album, The Renaissance, is in stores right now and should be in your collection now.

To show our appreciation...

What If Obama Really Wins? Part 1

Chris Focus sat down to reflect on what could happen if Senator Barack Obama is elected president on the United States. In a 2 part series, he aims for the best and worst case scenarios. Obviously, with the fuckery at the polls, blatant hate talk, and attempted assassination on his life, things won't necessarily be all peachy for Barack. In Part 1, Chris takes the extremist role and Focuses on the worst case scenario on what could happen once Obama is elected. Listen carefully.

[NEW] Nas - "Election Night"

This was recorded last night in Oslo, Norway just for today. Produced by Green Lantern. Link courtesy of OnSmash. Expect to see tons of election/presidential type material today. It's only right.

[VIDEO] Evidence - "The Far Left" (ft. The Alchemist and Fashawn)

Dope video inspired by the classic Bob Dylan "Subterranean Homesick Blues" video. See, you don't need big budgets to make creative videos. Just creativity.

This song is from Ev's upcoming project, The Layover EP.

Chris Focus x Melo KAN Live Performance

The homie Eaazee shot me over this video of Los Angeles emcees Chris Focus and Melo Kan perform live at USC from a few weeks back. FCC is in the building. Below is a bonus video of Chris Focus kicking a mean freestyle for REVIBE.

[NEW] Jay Electronica - "Exhibit A" (Transformations)

This one is produced by Just Blaze and appears on a compilation album called Fresh Cuts Vol. 3 (Music By Guitar Center Employees). I'm a fan of Jay Electronica, his abstract wordplay and imagery is top notch. I can tell he's starting to find his voice and is taking full advantage. This is a must listen.

[VIDEO] Consequence - "Job Song"

We can all relate to this one. Working a shitty job, making no money, bill collectors knocking on your door. Fuck that.

This song utilizes one of my favorite samples of all time, Bob James' "Nautilus." In fact, I think I'm going to bump some Bob James right now. Thanks, Cons.

Daily Dopeness: Eric B. Is President

Hopefully Obama is too.

Yes we can.

FCC Presents Tassho Pearce.

FCC partner Ges put me on to this cat outta Hawaii who is doing his thing. His name is Tassho Pearce. Every week, starting today, Ges will leak a brand new track fro his upcoming album, The Opening Act.

Not only is Tassho a great lyricist, he's an entreprenurial force to be reckoned with, owning a succesful clothing label - Flip The Bird which has been seen on the backs of Kanye West, Method Man, Raekwon and even a Russell Simmons co-signage. So you know it's official! Tassho also runs in the same circles as the Dilated Junkies (Dilated Peoples and Beat Junkies), has collaborated with DJ / turntablist pioneer DJ Q-bert and is also working on a project with B. Money who produced The Prelude on Jay-Z's Kingdom Come."
