[VIDEO] Busta Rhymes (ft. Big Tigger) - "If You Don't Know, Now You Know"

Yes, featuring Big Tigger from Rap City. Don't ask, it makes sense when you hear the song. It's actually a pretty dope concept. I'll let Tigger explain:

Well I came up for the concept for the song “If You Don’t I Know Now You Know” I told Busta about it bout 2yrs ago. About a year ago Busta wakes me up at 2 in the morning like “Yo we need to do the song” and I’m like “What song?” He’s like, “The song you told me about”. So now I’m waking up and he’s like “Yo, I’m done with my album but I don’t really have that joint. I need a concept record. Nobody really does concepts anymore”.

So the basic concept of the song, if you haven’t heard it you need to go get Back On My BS, is as I’m interviewing Busta I’m rhyming the questions and he’s rhyming the answers.

BustaTV.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the first segment of Busta Rhymes new online series, BustaTV. Evidently, there's a lot of bullshit going on.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK: Busta Rhymes.

Without question, Busta Rhymes is a Hip-Hop legend. He's took the game by storm back in 1992 as he stole the show on the historic "Scenario" posse cut. I mean, his verse stills stands up to today's standards, and I've never met anyone who can't quote a line from his verse And he continues to do it to this day. The Bussa Bus has a brand new album dropping today, appropriately titled Back On My B.S. In a recent sit down interview after a show in L.A., Busta opens up about how he never wants to retire and still rocking out a the ripe old age of 65. Why? Because he loves Hip-Hop. He also explains the god-like feeling he gets from being able to move the crowd and make em say some shit he thought up in his crib over a bowl of cereal. That's power.

Enjoy the interview...

Pepsi Smash Mic Pass ft. Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Raekwon, Jim Jones and Jay Rock.

Dope concept. Every year at the NBA All-Star break, Pepsi throws the Pepsi Smash concert series. They flipped it and did a live cypher from Arizona, with 5 different MC's in 5 different locations...passing the proverbial mic. Check it out, it's pretty fly. This might be the best Pepsi commercial of all time.

Busta Rhymes + J Dilla = Dillagence. (MIXTAPE)

Another oldie but goodie as Dilla Day rolls on. The king of mashup mixtapes, Mick Boogie, put this out a while back and it features Busta spitting fire over some classic Dilla beats. And I figured, this sounds as good now as it did back the, so today is a perfect day as any to re-up it. TURN IT UP!

[DOWNLOAD HERE.]

Shout out to the dope boyz for bringing this back to life and reminding me to post it.

From Radio, To The Video, To Arsenio.

Here's A Tribe Called Quest performing "Scenario" live with the LOTS on the Arsenio Hall show back in 199something. This is one of the most classic of classic TV performances in hip-hop history. I remember watching this shit live and jumping around and doing that "high knee stepping" dance that they're doing. (Sidebar: This move was all the rage in the early 90's and would be ultimately perfected by Treach). This performance was pretty much ahead of it's time, and Arsenio was the shit because he let hip-hop acts perform on his show when nobody else would give them the time of day...

Also, Check out Busta Rhymes doing his best Where's Waldo impersonation.

[NEW] Q-Tip ft. Busta Rhymes, Raekwon, and Lil Wayne - "Renaissance Rap" (Remix)

Q-Tip? Yes, Busta Rhymes? Yup. Raekwon? Fo Sho. Lil Wayne? Why the hell not. Q-Tip enlists some heavy hitters to remix one of my favorite joints on The Renaissance. This is a heat rock. I love when remixes make sense.

Biggie Smalls and J Dilla Collab?

It almost happened. Watch this video. Right now. Hear it straight from Frank (Frank N’ Dank) and J Dilla as they tell tales of meeting Q-Tip for the first time, fist fights over S950 vs ASR-10 capabilities, and a rare studio session with Notorious B.I.G. that was supposed to feature Busta, but the original never saw the light of day. The verse was later re-used on Biggie's posthumous album, Born Again, for the song Dangerous MC's which was produced by Nottz. Well guess what, I found the song.

It's sad to see Dilla in a wheelchair, but this is still a very important piece of footage. Shout out to FWMJ for the videos. Download the rare original version of the track and then thank the heavens above.

[NEW] Busta Rhymes - "Arab Money"

That's not an ignorant title or anything.

This is supposedly Busta's teh new single off his new album for new new label Universal Motown. For those of you not knowing, he was recently dropped from Interscope - probably because he creates more hype than actual record sales. His new album is titled, B.O.M.B. (Back On My Bullshit), and when he says "Bullshit" - I hope he's referring to wearing funny hats and pointing at the camera while roaring on record, as opposed to, you know, getting arrested...again.

Tribe Called Quest - Scenario (Unreleased Version)

This is a true gem right here. This is what hip hop affectionados live for. This, my internet friends, is a rare version of one of the first takes on the classic Tribe song, "Scenario"

You'll notice the beat varies a little, and the lineup is also different. It seems that the whole Native Tongues posse jumped on this including De La Soul, Black Sheep, and L.O.N.S. Here's a little back story from DJ Johnny Juice (who worked with L.O.N.S. and PE):

A Tribe Called Quest was doing ‘Scenario’. It was me, Dinco, Busta, Jarobi was there – everybody was in that motherfucker – Dres from Black Sheep was there, both of ‘em, Chris Lighty, Mase and Pos from De La, all them motherfuckers rhymed on ‘Scenario’. Everybody rhymed on it but Q-Tip, and the best motherfucker on that shit was Posdnuos. He fuckin’ destroyed it, and he ain’t even like the beat! And after he finished rhyming, everybody went back and rewrote their rhymes!

[NEW] Busta Rhymes (feat. Lil Wayne & Ludacris) - "Throw It Up"

New Busta Rhymes featuring the hottest rapper in the game, and another guy you might have heard of. Oh yeah, it's also produced by Cool & Dre. This song is off his upcoming, shelved, straight to internet in limbo new album, Blessed. Where ever it's from, the song is bangin.

Busta Rhymes Dropped from Interscope??

Is Busta Rhymes homeless?

According to an “inside source,” Busta Rhymes has been dropped by his label, Interscope Records. Now, this is only a rumor as of now (you know how the internet loves to lie), but if it's true, Busta would be the second artist in a week to be dropped from the label, after Obie Trice was just released from his contract last week. According to reports, the Flipmode head honcho got into a verbal sparring match with Interscope president Jimmy Iovine that ended with the two parting ways. Come on, Busta, you know you can't cuss out The Man, and still expect to have a job.

This is bizarre because the Bus A Bus had an album on the way which was "scheduled" to drop this august. The album, titled Blessed was his second scheduled release on the Interscope subsidiary label, Aftermath Records. No word on what will happen to his album, but I'm sure the internets will get it's hand on it one way or another.
