[NEW] Xzibit ft. U-N-I - “So What”

Say word? X-to-the-Z and U-to-the-I on the same track? That's what I'm talking about. Big things poppin for the Inglewood duo. This track is the second release from Cashmere Agency Presents Mr. Grustle & Tha Russian’s Dubstep LA: Embrace The Renaissance Vol. 1 Mixed By Plastician. That's the longest title I've ever seen. And I don't even really know what it means. But the song is crazy. It's some Russian Dubstep, which is evidently some electro-breakbreak type ish. But that's just a guestimation. All I know is Xzibit gets his double time flow on for a sec, and it's pretty gangster. It's safe to say he Pimped The Rhyme...hahaaaaaaa. I know, that wwas bad. But the song is good.

U-N-I x MOUNTAIN DEW.

The homies Thurzday and Y-O (of U-N-I) talk about their new deal with Mountain Dew, and take you behind the scenes for the recording of their latest song, "Land Of The Kings" which was released on the Dew's Green Label Sound. Thumbs up to the haters.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK: 6th Sense.

Since it's the start of the 6th month of the year, it's only right that 6th Sense sets it off as our first Artist of the Week for June. But it goes beyond simple mathematics... 6th is nice, yo. The NY rapper/producer is killin the game right now, and everything that he touches seems to break necks. Although he started rapping first, lately he's been making a name for himself with the beats, working with everyone and their momma including Outasight, The Kid Daytona, Mick Boogie, UNI, Donny Goines, Cook Classics and Evidence...just to name a few. The resume is too extensive to put it all here, and quite frankly you don't have enough time to read it all. But if you're not familiar with the music, it's time to heighten your awareness take notice of 6th Sense.

After the video, download yourself some tracks and thank me later.

[NEW] U-N-I : "Land Of The Kings"

This dropped last week, but like I mentioned I was on vacation, so it's only right that I show the homies some proper shine. This is the latest joint from Thurz and Y-O, and truth be told, it's on some next level epicness. I mean, how could it not be with a name like "Land Of The Kings?" That's like naming your son Maximus. He better be gangster.

You can also catch Thurzday in an upcoming cameo for the music video that I produced last week for the homie Basicali. Stay tuned for that in the next couple of weeks.

DAMN, I Wish I Was On That!!!

This is one of our newest features on Hip Hop Official. We ask some of (y)our favorite rappers if there was a particular song that when they first heard it, they were like "Daaaaaamn, I wish I was on that!" Whether you wished you could have spit a verse on it, produced it, wrote it, or just shouted out some Diddy-like adlibs in the background. What song in the history of music, do you wish you could have been a part of?

Stay tuned for more of these coming soon.

Tonight.

The homie Eazee is throwing his 1 year anniversary party. And since his site started last April, and my site started last April as well, I'm gonna piggy back this party and say it's my 1 year co-anniversary. Yep, I can do that. It's FCC all day, everyday. Roll through, and catch performances from U-N-I and Chris Focus. And catch me representing for Hip Hop Official and The Notorious B.L.O.G.

The back of the club, sipping Moet is where you'll find me.

The house was packed from the windows to the wall. You name em, they were in the building. Everybody and their momma was there....and yes, even Y-O's mom was in attendance. It was a beautiful thing. Shout out to Thurzday, Y-O, Chris London, Evidence, CurT@!ns, E-Dub, Eazee, Chris Focus, El Prez, Dale Danja, Cook Classics, Greg The Dude, 6th Sense, Shawn Chrystopher, Basicali, DJ Lady Sha, H.O.P.E., Bambu, Verbs, Val the Vandle, Hallway Jay, Meka, Devi Dev, Tamika from VIMBY, and I know I'm forgetting people, so shout out to you too. Special shout out to the tall dude with the long hair who got it crackin in the mosh pit. That dude had the most fun all night.

U-N-I performed for damn near an hour, rocking songs from their first album, Fried Chicken and Watermelon, as well as their Before There Was Love Mixtape, and of course the new album, A Love Supreme. Check the photos below.

U-N-I: A Love Supreme [DOWNLOAD]

The wait is over. U-N-I and Ro. Blvd present A Love Supreme, the album. For you, for free. Interesting tidbit, the name A Love Supreme was originally an album by the legendary John Coltrane, and considered by many jazz enthusiasts to be one of the greatest jazz albums of all time. It's one of the those albums that transcended music, and change the face of an entire genre, only to influence musicians for generations upon generations. I'm not trying to gas up this UNI project for you, but I'm just saying...sometimes the dots connect for a reason.

Thurz and Yo are the homies, and we're mad proud of you guys. I've witnessed first hand how hard you've worked, and how far you've come with this music. It's mad inspiring. Congratulations. You guys deserve all the success that lies ahead. For real, for real. One love. OK, enough of the sappy shit, download some music.

L.A.U.S.D. Presents "Curly Tops and Nautica Jackets" (FREE DOWNLOAD)

The Los Angeles Unified Sound District presents a new project that reminds us of the golden days of Nautica Sport jackets (we all had one), and greasy ass hair. For me, it's high school. For you, maybe it was middle school. Maybe it was grammar school. Shit, it might even be pre-school for some of ya'll. Regardless, this album features a plethora of dope westcoast artists who you probably have heard of, including Blu, U-N-I, Pac Div, Diz Gibran, J*Davey, and more. Download it and stick it in your iPod.

[NEW] U-N-I : "My Life"

When the fellas previewed the upcoming A Love Supreme album for me, this track definitely stood out. First off, the bass line sample is automatically recognizable for any Mobb Deep fan. But they took this to another level. The overall vibe is an uplifting, feel good, heartfelt groove oozing with introspective lyrics. It's beautiful. This is the kind of song that you keep in your rotation for a long, long time. Chicken soup for the soul.

It's crazy to see how far Thurz and Y-O have come from their first album, Fried Chicken & Watermelon. Just last year, Hip Hop Official was one of the first outlets to give these cats shine, as our Artist of the Week last June. This was way before they were on every website and blowing up these here internets. And today, they are one of the hottest groups anywhere. Busta Rhymes shouts them out at concerts. They're taking meeting from record labels. They're about to achieve their dream. Big up, fellas. And you, the fans, will blown away by their upcoming album that drops March 31st. Trust me.

And as an added bonus, because I know you all love free shit, here's a video from the Love Supreme sessions with the engineers talking about the making of this specific track. Some good stuff right here.
