"Run This Town" Spoof.

Affion Crocket is a genius, and does one of the best Jay-Z impersonations ever. Classic. "Run This Town" becomes "Hunt Chris Brown." Enjoy.

IN THE LAB WITH: DJ KHALIL.

We get to do some pretty cool shit here at Hip Hop Official. For real, for real. One of my favorites is our "In the Lab" series where we link up with producers, and they discuss production techniques. This is some all access, behind the scenes type-stuff; Exactly what every true hip hop fan is looking for.

Well this time around, we got to enter the lab with one of the dopest beatsmiths in the game. This cat is a beast, and extremely slept on. Besides behind one of Dr. Dre's in house producers, he's also laced beats for Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Nas, Fabolous, Slaughterhouse, Talib Kweli, Evidence, The Game, Xzibit, Cypress Hill, and Raekwon. You know, just to name a few. His latest heatrock is the jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, neck-breaking, patty-cakin monster he made for the Clipse - "Kinda Like A Big Deal." Khalil showed us a step-by-step breakdown of how he constructed the beat, and gives a little back story on how the Clipse and Kanye turned it into an instant classic.

[NEW] Drake (ft. Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and Eminem) - "Forever"

Wow, three of the biggest rap superstars on 1 track? (No, not you Drake). It's only missing Jigga to complete the current Mt. Rushmore of Hip Hop royalty. So what happens when you put this many heavyweights on one track? The people go crazy. The internet has been talking about this one for the last few days, just waiting for a taste. And here it is. Let me give you some insight. Lil Wayne wanted to work with Eminem during the time he was recording for Relapse, but it never worked out. Em promised to give Weezy a collab after the fact, and that time is now. So Weezy pulled in Drake, and of course Kanye followed suit. This track is going to appear on Lebron James’ upcoming More Than A Game project dropping soon. And yes, Eminem kills this shit. No wonder he went last, because the song would have been over in 30 seconds if he went first.

[NEW] Jay-Z (ft. Kanye West & Rihanna) - “Run This Town”

Here's the official first single from Jigga Man's upcoming album, Blueprint 3 ("D.O.A." was just for the streets). The album drops on Sept 11...which happens to be the 8 year anniversary of his original Blueprint album. Word on the internets is that every urban radio station in the country played this song at 9:11 AM. Now that's gangster.

[VIDEO] Clipse ft. (Kanye West) - "Kinda Like A Big Deal"

I'm no expert, but I don't think this is the final version. Audio is bunk, and the picture quality is shotty. I smell a leak.

:: awaits Kanye's ALL CAPS tirad on his blog ::

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KANYE.

Today the Louis Vuitton Don turns 32. Damn, imagine the party that dude is gonna have. It might be slightly better than my last one, but I know I'll have a better cake.

Shout out to Yeezy. Have a great day, and don't forget to celebrate that Good Life.

[VIDEO] Kanye West - "Paranoid" [FINAL VERSION]

By now you probably heard that this version we posted wasn't the final version. In fact, it wasn't even really a version, more like a timeline of shots they used as a pre-rough draft. No worries, everything's been cleared up. This is the final FINAL version. It's now in black and white and makes a heck of a lot more sense. It has a old school 1950's low budget horror flick look to it, and some graphics and titles have been added to enhance that feel. And don't worry, Rihanna is still in it.

[VIDEO] Kanye West (ft. GLC & Consequence) - "Spaceship"

This is a never before seen, never before released video for Kanye's song "Spaceship" off his debut album, College Dropout, back in 2004. It's still not finished, but GLC has just released a rough cut of the video for the world to see (you'll even see the diagonal red line thru a few shots). Here's what GLC said:

First off, I’d just like to thank everyone for believing! There’s a lot of people saying where we could of been if this was released in 04 but for what ever reasons it wasn’t. I no longer wanna deprive the people of their rights! You have the right to embrace my concept as well as those of Kanye, Consequence & Tony Williams as we gave you are all! This is a story of triumph over the ills of society & the workforce interfering with your pimpin’ & in this time of a recession this record may be more relevant now than it was in 2004! Thank for letting me grow with you! Love, Life & Loyalty coming soon! Hello World! Oh yeah my player is fixed too sorry about the prior non pimpish auto-play!

Shout out to the homie 88-Keys for his cameo, see if you can spot him. Shout out to Fake Shore Drive for the video.

THE NBA: WHERE CAUCASIAN HAPPENS.

Hi-lar-ious. This was created by Kno from the Cunninlyguists, who just happens to be white. It's so good, it's even Kanye approved.

[VIDEO] Kanye West - "Paranoid"

"You worry about the wrong thing...the wrong thing."

The latest in moving pictures from Mr. West. This one stars Rihanna in what looks like a photo shoot from 1987. Oh Knaye, you're so artsy.

UPDATE: Evidently, this is the wrong version. It was leaked and Kanye is pissed:

"IT HURTS ME TO SEE THE OLD AND VERY WRONG VERSION OF THE PARANOID VIDEO GET LEAKED ALL OVER THE NET WHILE I WAS ON AN 11 HR FLIGHT AND COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. IT'S JUST FRUSTRATING WHEN THIS STUFF HAPPENS BECAUSE I REALLY CARE ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND SINCE VIDEOS NEVER GET PLAYED ANY WAY YOU MIGHT AS WELL TWEAK THEM AND MAKE THEM AS SPECIAL AS POSSIBLE. THE VERSION THAT GOT LEAKED FROM THE CAMERA PHONE LAST WEEK IS AT LEAST A LITTLE CLOSER TO THE FINAL PRODUCT. THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR SUPPORT BUT THAT VIDEO WAS NOT UP TO MY STANDARDS. HERE'S SOME SCREEN SHOTS FROM THE REAL VIDEO"

The Making of "Maybach Music 2"

The production team J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League talks about the making of Rick Ross's classic track and one of the best instrumentals of the year so far, "Maybach Music 2" featuring Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and T-Pain. Deep Than Rap is in stores now. BAWSE.

If you don't know the song, or haven't heard it yet, get you some:

Artist of the Week: Kid Sister.

The Chicago hip hopstress Kid Sister is our Hip Hop Official Artist of the Week. Her genre blending style is equal parts hip hop, classic Chicago house, and new wave electro, mixed together and covered in spunk. The majority of you were probably introduced this ball of energy when she hit the scene back in 2008 with her Kanye backed track "Pro Nails."

If you're one of the few who lives under a rock and are not familiar with Melissa, it's time to take notice. She linked up with the indie record label, Fool's Gold, which is run by Kanye's DJ and her current boyfriend, A-Trak. She plans on releasing her debut album, Dream Date, later this year. She talked to HHO about her upcoming album, her live shows, and what she has on tap for the rest of 2009. Here's a hint, whatever the hell she wants...Personally, I think she needs to add "Red Bull spokesperson" to her resume. After the interview, cop yourself a free download of her latest song.

[NEW] Clipse (ft. Kanye West) - "Kinda Like A Big Deal"

Cocaine raps meet heartbreak. The Clipse call on Kanye for this heavy collabo from the Clipse's forthcoming album, Til The Casket Drops. Produced by one of the most underrated dudes in hip hop, DJ Khalil.

Kanye x NBA Playoffs.

Here is Mr. West's official "Amazin" NBA Playoffs ad campaign. I caught this the other night, and I was impressed. The song is a perfect fit. The NBA's slogan is "Where Amazing Happens." It was only natural. I was just joking the other day when I was at the Laker game, that if I were a rapper I would make event specific songs for specific instances just so that they would use them in commercials, promos, and sporting events...and the royalty checks would roll in forever. Instead of playing the BEP's "Let's Get It Started" every time a basketball game jumps off, they would play my hit song "This Basketball Game is About To Begin." I'd have a football, baseball, and even hockey remix. The options are endless. And it would really make a lot of editors and advertisers jobs a lot easier. Rappers, get at me.

But this is really well done. Shout out to the ad wizards who came up with this one. Dave Chappelle was right, everything does look better in slow motion.

The NBA Playoffs Laker's Championship run starts this Saturday.

[NEW] Rick Ross ft. Kanye West, Lil Wayne & T-Pain - "Mayback Music 2"

This is one of the most anticipated songs of the year, and according to the Bawse, the realest shit ever wrote. Every one does their typical routine. Kanye flashes, Ross acts Bossy, T-Pain autotunes, and Weezy says weird, off the wall, pause-worthy shit like:

"All black Maybach, I'm sitting in the asshole."

To each their own. This song is still massive. BAWSE.
